Sex Linked Traits on a fruit fly. ( punnett sqare )?

I'm doing a project for school and i need to know what the sex linked traits are for a fruit fly. It would be in a punnett squar ex(red and white eyes ) can anyone help me with the punnett square?

Sex Linked Traits on a fruit fly. ( punnett sqare )?
lets say the gamete of red eye is X*R while white eye is X*W

using the punnett square, the gametes of crossing a

X*R X*W and X*R Y

would be X*R, X*"W, X*R, and Y.

those would be the four columns of both sides of the square. (horizontal and vertical)

to find out the results, the both gametes on the corresponding columns are written together

e.g. horizontal is X*R, vertical X*W, the answer for that column is X*R X*W.

This depends on the dominant allele. If red eye is dominant, the offspring for this case is an heterozygous red eye male.

the number of same genotype is then calculated and ratio of same phenotype is counted.
Reply:I can do punnett squares pretty well, but I don't really understand the question. e-mail me at tkd.chick@yahoo.com if you wanna explain the question more, if not, then sorry I couldn't be more help!
