Y-linked trait and an imprinted trait?

How could you differentiate between a Y-linked trait and an imprinted trait that is transmitted by males?

Y-linked trait and an imprinted trait?
Basic Mendelian disorders

Since normal males are XY and females XX,

Y-linked disorders are usually related to the SRY (Sex-determining Region Y) and usually have to do with

with humans with chromosome duplication XXY or XXXY or defects with sex determining region

Maternal (Mitochondrial) Inheritance

Diseases of the mitochondria are inherited in one of two ways: through the maternal lineage

or as autosomal disorders

Imprinting

Finally, For the vast majority of autosomal genes, expression may occur from either allele.

However, a small proportion (%26lt;1%) of genes are imprinted, meaning that expression occurs

from only one allele. The expressed allele is dependent upon its parental origin. For

some alleles only one parents allele is recognized and the other parent's is silenced

Imprinting is a huge problem with the cloning of mammals
