What is the legislation linked to the health care issues of the Natives and the government?

I am writing a paper that says to summarize a current issue between Natives and the government. Identify the legislation that you think is linked to the issue, and explain why you think there is a connection.

I am not completey sure that I understand this at all.

What is the legislation linked to the health care issues of the Natives and the government?
Natives= San Diego residents

Legislation= Federal monuments disposition

Issue= Mount Soledad Cross should it stay should it go

Natives= American People

Legislation= Children Healthcare

Issue= Should we spend 50 Million in Healthcare for Kids or in Iraq or possible Iran war

In C++, how do you delete the last node from a dynamic linked list and set it to NULL?

If I call the destructor of a dynamic linked list of three or more nodes,

else if (head != NULL)

{

NodeType* currentPtr;

while (head-%26gt;link != NULL)

{

currentPtr = head;

while (currentPtr-%26gt;link != NULL)

{

currentPtr = currentPtr-%26gt;link;

}

delete currentPtr;

currentPtr = NULL;

}

delete head;

head = NULL;

}

What I observe is that currentPtr gets deleted as well as the last node, but while currentPtr gets set to NULL, the last node remains as garbage.

How can I also set the last node to null?

In C++, how do you delete the last node from a dynamic linked list and set it to NULL?
It looks like you are trying to delete the entire list. You have to save next before deleting current. You don't set the last node to NULL. You just delete it.

Try this

NodeType* currentPtr;

NodeType* nextPtr = head;

while (nextPtr != NULL)

{

currentPtr = next;

nextPtr = currentPtr-%26gt;link;

delete currentPtr;

}

If you want to delete a specific node, you have to know the one to delete and the one before it.

NodeType* currentPtr;

NodeType* prevPtr;

// find current and previous however it suits you

// such that prevPtr-%26gt;link points to current

// This steps takes the current node out of the list

prevPtr-%26gt;link = currentPtr-%26gt;link;

// then delete it

delete currentPtr;

// If current was the last node, current-%26gt;link would be null.

// The assignment prevPtr-%26gt;link = currentPtr-%26gt;link would make

// prevPtr-%26gt;link null automatically.

Are my stomach pains linked to my phobias?

i have had stomach problems for about a year. i have been to two doctors, had a UE, and been perscribed to prevacid ever sense. i came across something about a girl who had the exact same syptoms as me and the exact same phobia as me. i am deathly afraid of throwing up or seeing/hearing/hearing about someone throwing up. i get panic attacks and can not control myself. my doctors can not explain what is wrong with my stomach and its been a year. is there anyway its linked to my phobia??? HELP!!?

Are my stomach pains linked to my phobias?
DREW!!! I have the same fear!!It is called emetephobia!

I go to a psychiatrist that prescribes me xanax and zoloft.The xanax is for panic attacks,and the zoloft is for depression that i had from being anxious all the time from my fear/phobia.There is a group online that i joined awhile back,it is for us with that particular fear.

Are insurance companies directly linked to the Police?
Neither one is linked to the other.
Reply:Insurance companies are linked to the Police National Computer and provide the information direct. The DVLA doesn't have access to the information.

Is Taur Matan Ruak linked to funny business in East Timor ?

Supposing he is, that of itself doesn't imply he is guilty.

For example JFK, Oswald, Princess Diana, and Benigno Aquino are all linked to funny business. That doesn't imply all or any of them are guilty.

Is every eating disorder linked with some type of depression?

I have ednos, and I was wondering if every eating disorder in some way is linked to depression?

Is every eating disorder linked with some type of depression?
Normally, eating disorders are linked to depression, however, the bigger and more evident link is the link to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Eating Disorders are about the control of eating. The person perpetuates the eating disorder because it's usually the only thing they feel in control of in their life when they develop it. Having depression will make the distorted image the person sees when they look at their body feel even more ashamed and worse.

If you have an eating disorder and suspect you have depression, seek a support network and any help you can. I hope that you are able to get better and work through this with professional help.

Good Luck.

Anxiety and heart pain linked to smoking weed?

I have been smoking weed for probably about a year now, and I'd say I've done it 30+ times. But something odd appeared in the last 5 times I smoked. My heart began to hurt momentarily and it made me very distressed while it was happening... But then it would go away after maybe about 30 seconds so I didnt think of it as a huge deal (big, stupid mistake). However, the last time I smoked two days ago it became more serious. It did not go away for maybe 5 minutes, and I began losing my breathe, and the pain became even worse. I told a friend it was happening and he said, "dont have a heartattack" and I completely freaked out. I went into the the other room and wanted the pain to go away so bad, and I decided to call 911. Long story short, I passed out on the phone with 911 only being able to say "help me." and they tracked where i was and picked me up. I did not tell the hospital I was smoking, because I'm afraid of my parents. Is this linked to anxiety attacks, or is my heart bad?

Anxiety and heart pain linked to smoking weed?
i seriously wouldnt worry about it. ive been doing drugs for years and so has my girlfriend. Ive been to the doctor about it and theyve told me that the main cause of mine was due to drugs. Its more common than you think and it does get worse the more you worry about it but the worse that can happen is you pass out again. There is absolutly no risk of a heart attack atall. If you tell you doctor (which by the way is confidential and can never get back to your parents) they may offer you drugs, i personally woulnd suggest this because you could become reliant on these in order to be happy. When you take any drug you are putting strain on your heart, and this is made worse if you have any form of depression at the same time. This is easily reversible and even if you wish to continue smoking weed you still can. I would suggest non-competitive exercise, the smell of citrus orange fragrance, herbal remedy tablets, writing all your problems down, healthy eating. In all honesty i would not worry atall about this, theres nothing wrong with your heart its all in your mind. i know is easy to say but im telling you this from personal experience. It will go after a while once you start focusing on other things.
Reply:Don't listen to those people calling you a lose at least you are thinking about stopping.

Yes weed does cause anxiety and other things. Best thing to do is stop . You will feel much better in yourself health wise also thinking clear.

I would advise you to find out other things weed can do to you. Always tell the doctor, nurse what you have had. They are not aloud to tell anyone what you have said to them with-out your permission first. Well they can't in Australia shore it would be the same in the U.S.
Reply:Smoking weed or smoking anything will not do any good to your body. I stopped a long, long time ago because it made me forgetful.

I think whatever you put in your mouth or on your body will affect you in the long run.
Reply:Weed WILL kill you. Make no mistake about that. Give it up now before you become hooked on it. There are people I know who I wish had received the same scare that you have. Maybe their lives would be a lot different now. Maybe they would be sensible and responsible human beings and not the mindless zombies they are today. PLeeeeeeeeaaaaase....give it up.
Reply:its anxiety ..relax dude weed cant kill you ..chest pain? Try to burp youre probably hyperventilating and swallowing air..m-e-l-l-o-w
Reply:I quit smoking weed because it started making my anxiety act up a lot. After awhile I couldn't be around people or anything while high because I got very paranoid.

It could be linked to your anxiety attacks, but then again your heart could be bad. The doctors will do tests to see if you have a bad heart..
Reply:Nysenutz is retarded! Weed will NOT kill you!!! I smoked weed for like 6 years straight, and then one day it started making me all paranoid and anxious. I kept smoking, but this continued to happen, so I quit for about 8 years. In the past couple years I started smoking again, but only occasionally, and I still get the anxiety most of the time. Sometimes it's so bad that I feel like I'm going insane and need to go to a mental hospital, and at the same time, I'll get the shortness of breath. So why do I still occasionally put myself through this? I have no idea. But during the 8 years that I wasn't smoking, I developed a bad anxiety problem. I got headaches all the time, I was stressed out, uptight, and I would get heart palpitations (feels like there's a butterfly in your heart). Whenever this would happen, I would freak out and think I was dying. I started to have really negative thoughts, and I convinced myself that I was dying. Every little ache or pain, I thought was cancer. I was afraid to go to sleep at night because I thought I wouldn't wake up. I had shortness of breath all the time. One day, I was at my friends house, and we were just hanging out (not smoking weed or anything), and all of a sudden I started getting heart palpitations, chest pains, and shortness of breath, and I just started freaking out that I was having a heart attack. My friend freaked out too, and called 911. When the paramedics got there, they did an EKG and said my heart rate was a little fast, but that I had just had a panic attack. They said "23 year olds don't have heart attacks", so that was quite relieving. They stayed until I calmed down, and then my friend called my parents and my boyfriend (now my husband) and had them come pick me up. I was so emberassed about the whole thing that I didn't talk to my friend for 6 months.....I just kind of pushed her away. The next day I went to the doctor, and she did a complete physical and diagnosed me with Anxiety. She wanted to put me on medication, but I refused. I thought the medication would kill me. So the anxiety continued, although I never had a huge panic attack like that again (just small ones). And finally one day I just got really sick of feeling this way, so I went back to the doctor and got a prescription for Paxil. I've been on it now for about 3 years, and I hate being on it.....I think it makes me a different kind of crazy, but I'm scared to get off it because I don't want the anxiety to come back. The reason I'm telling you all of this is because I've actually never heard of someone having a experience like the one I had. I don't know how old you are (hopefully you're at least out of high school), but I thought maybe my story could help you. I don't think there's anything wrong with your heart, but hopefully the doctors did plenty of tests to be sure. You should have definitely told them you were smoking pot. I think you have an anxiety problem, and smoking weed will definitely not help. I'm sure you don't want to have another experience like the one you described. I know from personal experience how bad that sucks!! So you might wanna lay off the weed for a while. If you're worried about what your friends might think, and you don't want to tell them the real reason you're quitting, just tell them that you're burnt out, or that you need to clear your head for a while. You really need to get some help for that anxiety problem. The weed isn't causing the anxiety, the anxiety problem is something you already had, but the weed is just intensifying it. Talk to your parents about it. You don't have to tell them you smoked weed, but tell them that you think you have anxiety, and get to a doctor. Your doctor will decide what is right for you. Anti-depressants suck, but they do make you feel better, and you might have to go on them. If you end up going on medication, I highly recommend staying away from weed and alcohol. But if you do end up smoking weed again (please make sure you're out of high school.....at least 18), and only take 1 or 2 hits. Take it slow to see how it's going to react with the medication. Because for me, the weed superceeds the medication, and I get symptoms of a panic attack. It's not cool. So stop, no more weed, ok? Go get treated for that anxiety and good luck!!
Reply:Weed without a doubt increases anxiety as well as your heart rate.

what kind of question is that? If you think you're pregnant take a pregnancy test. ANYONE even babies and men can get a cold so no its not linked to pregnancy.

Is this condition sex-linked or autosomal?

i kno that if more boys have the condition it is sex linked

and if more girls have the condition it is autosomal

.....but what if there is an equal number of boys and girls who share the condition???

Is this condition sex-linked or autosomal?
It would be autosomal. Gender makes no difference on autosomal traits. Therefore, girls should not have a greater chance of inheriting the trait.
Reply:You cannot determine whether a condition is sex-linked simply on population, although that generally is a good guide. The x chromosome has many effects, including modifying some autosomal effects.

High fever 4 days after MMR shot -- linked????

I'm very worried, and waiting for my dr to call me back. My 12 month old son was given the MMR vaccine on Wednesday and on Sunday he had a 103.5 fever. He's never had that high of a fever before. Are they linked? He had a rash the day after the shot, but it disappeared quickly. Also, he was acting odd last night (the night of the fever), starring off into space after he woke up from his afternoon nap. I thought maybe it was from being hot/waking up. But I'm very nervous after reading the controversy.

We have him on Motrin and Tylenol and that's brought his fever down to 100, and are giving him tepid baths.

Advice would be great, keep in mind I'm very worried with all the autism links that appear on the web. Thanks.

High fever 4 days after MMR shot -- linked????
my son just got his 12 month old shots too. he also got a high fever it was 104.6. the dr said the shots can certainly cause a fever, although she told me its not common for it to be that high. also the lowest i could get his fever with tyelone and motroin was 103. so if you are able to get it down to 100 then he is probably fine. call your dr or nurse and talk to them they may want to see him. also the fever lasted about 3-4 days going a little bit down each day. the dr.s didnt do anything for him.
Reply:I know my kids ran a fever with the MMR shot and it lasted longer than I expected. You may want to call your pediatrician. Most pediatrician offices has a emergency number if you a really concerned during the times that the office is closed. You have done everything right that I can see.

I understand your concern. My son had a virus during the winter that mad his temperature rise to 104.7. I was scared to death. The nurse said that she had seen higher and to only be concerned if it was that high constantly for a long period of time.
Reply:my son just had his on thursday and is having a bit of the same reaction. the nurse told us that a fever from the shot could last anywhere from 3-5 days. i was told that it was because they added the chicken pox vaccine to the combo. i would just wait on your doctor to call back to be safe. but i am sure your son is ok. give him lots of cool fluids and let him rest as much as possible too.

he is probably being lethargic because of his high temp. make sure you let your dr. know which method of temp taking you are using.

they do not use the chemical in the vaccines any more that contribute to autism. that you can be assured of. i have read in lots of places that the reactions to the shots can get worse as they get older. so just relax and wait for your doc to call back.
Reply:I'd be freaking out too and I have four children! Doctor's don't usually do much over the phone. I would take the baby to the best children's hospital around. I would be less concerned about the fever, 103.5 isn't really that high (it's high but not dangerously so) for a child. The staring off into space would concern me more. Take him to be seen by the best doctors you can find. It might be nothing, it might just be a simple reaction to the shot. I've had issues with pediatricians in the suburbs not being as knowledgeable as the docs at our children's hospital. Don't mess around, this is your child, if you are freaking out you are doing so for a reason. Always trust your gut!! Get him in to be seen and make sure everything is okay. Good luck!

After reading another post, I had to edit this.

Spacy types " they do not use the chemical in the vaccines any more that contribute to autism. that you can be assured of. "

The fact is, there has been some question about thimerosal in vaccines and the possible reactions. While it is true that they stopped using it as a preservative, there are still unanswered questions when it comes to vaccines link to autism. I have yet to find a comprehensive study on this topic and while I have vaccinated all of my children, I have really been concerned about this topic. I have held off on vaccinating my kids too early and I don't let them get more than two at a time. The fact remains that there is much that we do NOT know. They think that autism is genetic with some kind of environmental trigger. Could the trigger be vaccines? Until a better study is done it can't be ruled out. It could be something totally unrelated but again, they do not yet know what the trigger might be. I think we should all remain concerned and demand answers. Reading the stories of parents who have had children develop autism after vaccinations is incredibly heart breaking. My heart really goes out to these people. Something must be done to find the cause if it be vaccines or not! Everyone should educate themselves on this topic. Read everything you can, pro and con and always, always ask questions when it comes to your child. Autism rates have risen over the past decade and more. I'm posting a link below to show the numbers.

All parents should google information about mercury in vaccines and also read about the problems that are arising with the new "HPV" vaccine that they want to give 9-12year old girls. There are BIG problems that the mainsteam media is not talking about.

Please get informed!!!

Reply:It sounds like the fever is linked to the shot... its fairly common that kids get a high fever after the MMR shot, and its usually 5-10 days after the shot.

I'm sure your son is acting odd due to the high fever and not feeling great.

I'm speaking as a mother of three kids, one of whom is autistic. And he does fall into that classic "was normal until around 18 months" autistic kids. Despite this, I really and truly feel there is no link between the vaccine and autism. There is no scientific proof, and I feel the increase in autism cases is due to better diagnosing of it, and the spectrum has become so broad it encompasses many disorders. I've done a lot of research trust me.

So try not to worry, see what your doctor has to say, and keep treating the fever as you have been. I hope he feels better soon!

What are some diseases linked with droughts and floods?

I know that droughts and floods are linked to some diseases. What are the names of these diseases?

They can be directly or indirectly related to floods and droughts.

Thank you!

What are some diseases linked with droughts and floods?
floodwater contaminated with human waste definately increases the chance of spreading diseases like cholera. it is not 'mostly a third world issue' (like sparky said) , rather it common occurence where flooding occurs and people drink contaminated water. If i remember clearly, there were a few reported cases in New Orleans after Katrina.

to answer your question, feacal colliform bacteria and E.coli thrive in contaminated flood water and cause dysentry, typhoid,gastroenteritis, and sometimes hepatitis A on human contact.
Reply:Diarrhea, malaria, other mosquito-borne diseases.

Cholera (a water-borne disease) is usually pretty rampant in flooded areas. Also, general sickness from human waste (more in third-world countries) where the sewage system is affected by the flooding.

Duplicates exception in Java Linked List - Please help?

Biology Questions!!!!! Why does co-dominance, incomplete dominance, sex linked traits, and linked genes.......

Why does co-dominance, incomplete dominance, sex linked traits, and linked genes no follow classical Mendelian genetics?

What is a mutation?

How can bacteria be genetically engineered to make human insulin?

How can the environment control gene expression?

Please help.

Biology Questions!!!!! Why does co-dominance, incomplete dominance, sex linked traits, and linked genes.......
Medelian genetics is more simple, based on the idea that each parent contributes one allele to each gene, which will be either dominant or recessive. Example: If one parent gives the allele for blue eyes, and the other parent gives an allele for brown eyes, the resulting gene in their child will be Bb (both brown and blue are carried, but Brown shows through because it is dominant).

The idea that some can be co-dominant (like how a horse with one red parent and one grey parent comes out Roan, which is a mixture of the two colors rather than choosing one color or the other do be dominant), or that whether the offspring is male or female can affect the way these gene combinations play out, is not something that Mendel considered when working with his pea plant experiments.

I have no idea about the bacteria/insulin question.

The environment can control gene expression in many ways. For example, if a child is born with the genes to be tall, but grows up malnourished, he will still be short because his cells did not have the nutrition they needed to become tall. If a child is born with the gene for very light skin, but is exposed to a lot of sun without sunscreen or other protection, his skin will become dark to protect itself from the sun (tan).

I'm assuming this is for homework. I hope this helps; however, please don't just copy and paste my answers in- that's plagiarism. Restate the idea in your own words, and come up with your own examples where possible.
Reply:Look in your textbook.
Reply:The short answer to your first answer is that life just isn't always as simple as Mendel's examples are.

Mendel started by picking easy traits to study in that they were qualitative (that is, on and off, not numerical, or quantitative), and he happened to pick 7 traits that were each controlled by only a single gene, and each of these genes was located on a different chromosome, so none of them were linked to each other.

The other thing about the traits he studied is that they only had two alleles, and that one allele was completely dominant compared to the other.

But reality is, for each trait that fits these narrow criteria, there are a thousand more that don't.

For instance, lets say an organism is heterozygous for two alleles of a gene, one of them pretty functional, and the other one isn't. If the phenotype of the organism with two working copies is indistinguishable from an organism with one working copy, then we're going to say that the working allele is completely dominant to the other one. This is the case for a lot of genes we know of, like Mendel's green and yellow peas.

But lets say that the single working copy in the heterzygote can't quite do all the work without a second copy present. Having a pink flower from red and white ones would be an example of this. We then have to say that there is incomplete dominance.

Now, if instead of a working allele and a broken allele, what if we just have two working, but different alleles, like A and B blood types. If an organisms has both alleles, they show both A and B proteins on the RBCs, and so those alleles are co-dominant.

Now, Mendel picked 7 traits to follow, and they happened to be located on 7 chromosomes. This meant that each was inherited independently of the others. This lead him to conclude that all genes were inherited independently of each other, but we know now that this is wrong. Genes which are located on the same chromosomal molecule are linked, and so alleles tend to "stick" together. How well depends on how close they are physically on the chromosome. Sex linked genes are a subset of other linked genes, since those genes lie on the sex chromosomes, the alleles are "linked" to the sex of the organism.

Other people answered the mutation question; a mutation is just a change in DNA.

Bacteria can be engineered to make human insulin by giving them the DNA that codes the protein (usually by transforming them with a plasmid that has the appropriate DNA on it), and letting them crank out all the insulin they can.

The environment controls gene expression lots of ways. A couple examples can be found in bacteria; the lac operon is the classic example: the genes for eating lactose are turned off unless lactose is present, and transcription is minimal unless the cell is really hungry.

Below are a few links about the lac operon
Reply:mendels exp were on pea plants where the seven traits that he worked upon were on 4 different chromosomes.So codominance,incomplete dominance.......etc did not happen.incomplete dominance was not a pre mendalion concept because theparantals types reappear in the f2 generation.

In biology, mutations are changes to the genetic material (usually DNA or RNA). Mutations can be caused by copying errors in the genetic material during cell division and by exposure to radiation, chemicals, or viruses, or can occur deliberately under cellular control during processes such as meiosis or hypermutation. In multicellular organisms, mutations can be subdivided into germline mutations, which can be passed on to descendants and somatic mutations. The somatic mutations cannot be transmitted to descendants in animals. Plants sometimes can transmit somatic mutations to their descendents asexually or sexually (in case when flower buds develop in somatically mutated part of plant).

Mutations are considered the driving force of evolution, where less favorable (or deleterious) mutations are removed from the gene pool by natural selection, while more favorable (beneficial or advantageous) ones tend to accumulate. Neutral mutations are defined as mutations whose effects do not influence the fitness of either the species or the individuals who make up the species. These can accumulate over time. The overwhelming majority of mutations have no significant effect, since DNA repair is able to revert most changes before they become permanent mutations, and many organisms have mechanisms for eliminating otherwise permanently mutated somatic cells

the gene responsible for the production of human insulin is

fired into bacteria like e coli and they r cultured.

Gene-environment interaction is a term used to describe any phenotypic effects that are due to interactions between the environment and genes. Naive nature versus nurture debates assume that variation in a given trait is primarily due to either genes, or the individual's experiences. The current scientific view is that neither genetics nor environment are solely responsible for producing individual variation, and that virtually all traits show gene-environment interaction. The specific pattern that relates the average expression of trait across a range of environments is known as a genotype's norm of reaction.

A classic example of gene-environment interaction is Tryon's (1942) artificial selection experiment on maze-running ability in rats. Tryon produced a remarkable difference in maze running ability in two selected lines after seven generations of selecting "bright" and "dull" lines by breeding the best and worst maze running rats with others of similar abilities. The difference between these lines was clearly genetic since offspring of the two lines, raised under identical typical lab conditions, performed too differently. This difference disappeared in a single generation, if those rats were raised in an enriched environment (Cooper %26amp; Zubek 1958) with more objects to explore and more social interaction. This result shows that maze running ability is the product of a gene-by-environment interaction, the genetic effect is only seen under some environmental conditions.

The ability of an organism with a given genotype to change its phenotype in response to changes in the environment is called phenotypic plasticity. Such plasticity in some cases expresses as several highly morphologically distinct results; in other cases, a continuous norm of reaction describes the functional interrelationship of a range of environments to a range of phenotypes.

Organisms of fixed genotype may differ in the amount of phenotypic plasticity they display when exposed to the same environmental change. Hence phenotypic plasticity can evolve and be adaptive if fitness is increased by changing phenotype. Immobile organisms such as plants have well developed phenotypic plasicity giving a clue to the adaptive significance of phenotypic plasticity.

A highly illustrative example of phenotypic plasticity is found in the social insects, colonies of which depend on the division of their members into distinct castes, such as workers and guards. Individuals in separate castes differ dramatically from one another, both physically and behaviorally. However, the differences are not genetic; they arise during development and depend on the manner of treatment of the eggs by the queen and the workers, who manipulate such factors as embryonic diet and incubation temperature. The genome of each individual contains all the instructions needed to develop into any one of several 'morphs', but only the genes that form part of one developmental program are activated.

In epidemiology, a popular theory is that rising incidences of coronary heart disease and Type II diabetes in human populations undergoing industrialization is due to a mismatch between a metabolic phenotype determined in development and the nutritional environment an individual is subsequently exposed to. This is known as the 'Thrifty phenotype' hypothesis (see Evolutionary psychology).

Are some casinos still linked or connected with the mafia?

Does it help them get most of there problems solved?

Are some casinos still linked or connected with the mafia?
Most casinos nowadays are too highly regulated to allow the mafia to have anything to do with their operations. That doesn't mean, however, that they don't cater to mafia types and turn a blind eye to things that might be going on under their roof. Certain casinos have earned reputations as "safe havens" for illegal activitity, but there is always plausible deniability. The mob is just another guest at a casino, they're no longer the casino itself. Besides, with the corporate ownership of almost all casinos they have a much more wicked, painful, terrifying tool to help solve their problems: lawyers.
Reply:Who knows, but I would suspect yes.
Reply:yes, all casinos. no problems except money rotating%26amp;controllin .lol
Reply:in the US, I highly doubt it. However, a lot of gambling in Japan is linked to the Yakuza (the Japanese form of the mafia). Casinos are illegal in Japan, possibly due to the Yakuza connection with gambling, but slot machines and "pachinko" are.
Reply:In vegas, I'd bet a lot of North Vegas (Fremont St. Area) Probably still have some 'outside influence'.

Most of the major casinos on the strip are owned/co owned by Wynn I believe. Those that aren't are still corporate owned.
Reply:Im sure there may be some smaller casinos that may have some mafia influence financially. Its not like the old days anymore where they are operating them or have Freddy "no neck" Lisamabambo to break your head if you try to cheat on the payroll.

Most all of the casinos today are owned by major corperations.

What is a circular linked list?

can you please share your ideas about circular linked list? and do you know how to sort names using it?

What is a circular linked list?
A linked list is a data structure in which each element contains the data you want to store, and a reference to the next element.

A circular linked list is a linked list where the 'last' element includes a reference to the 'first' element. I'm putting quotes around first and last, because the linked list is now circular, so there's no first and last anymore. It's kind of like a necklace that consists of all identical shackles; such a necklace doesn't have a beginning nor end, either.

It should be clear by now that you can't sort a circular linked list: the 'first' element might be bigger than the 'last' one, but since they are connected to each other (the list is circular!), they are no longer in order.

To illustrate: here's a regular linked list that contains the letters a, b, c and d:

b --- d --- c --- a

The letters are the data, the dashes are the links. A circular list would have dash between the last element (a) and the first (b):

b --- d --- c --- a

|___________|

A sorted linked list would of course be like this:

a --- b --- c --- d

A circular sorted linked list can't exist

a --- b --- c --- d

|____      ____|

because, in this case, the letters are sorted alphabetically, but obviously the 'd' does NOT come before the letter 'a' even though the line between them does suggest that. To illustrate this, I 'broke' the line from d to a.
Reply:So what else/more did you expect?? Report It

Reply:circular linked list is normal linked list except that the last node linked to the first one so it can be shown as circular shape . .

the most advantage of it that if you want to go from the last node to the first node it cost just one move .

In normal linked list moving from last node to the first one cost N-move

where is N = number of nodes in the list

you can sort it by traverse over nodes and comparing names , like any other lists
Reply:A link list is a programming construct. You have a series of cells and each cell has a data section and a pointer section. each cell points to the next cell in the list and the last cell points to the first to make it circular.

Look here for a visual: http://lcm.csa.iisc.ernet.in/dsa/node25....

You can program a sort like this to bubble up the answer. THis is suedo code.

temp=0

p=getfirstpointoflist(list)

repeat

if list(d).p %26gt; list(d).next then

temp=list(d).next

list(d).next=list(d).p

list(d).p=temp

end if

p=list.next

until done
Reply:ok I'm going to pseudo talk this through, since you didn't mention a language, and i'm rusty on my c++.

A linked list is a list of something you have like in an array or vector, and you add and remove things by pointing (with pointers like -%26gt; or something) to a certain position, and doing your add or remove. Lets just stick with adding something right now. Remove has the same concept.

So you point to somewhere in your vector (like an array, but you dont have to specify length in the beginning) and you want to add a name. You point with the pointers, allocate another space, and add the name in that spot. Alternatively, not using linked list to put something in the middle of an array or vector will require you to find the spot, and move all the other allocated spaces over one, which will probably require a for loop, and take up more memory.

in sorting names, you would first add a name, then check the input of the second name, and if it goes after the first name, put it int he second spot. Check (input) of the third name, if it goes at the end, put your pointer at the end of the vector and add it there, if it goes in between the first and second name, point to the middle (aka right after the name of the previous letter), and add it there.

Hope you get it, I cant really explain it too well, and it is 4am.

I have a printer linked with my desktop and i just bought a laptop and i was wondering if i can print with it?
If you have your laptop and PC connected to the same Router/Switch (Linksys, Belkin, Netgear....) then you can share your printer from your pc and then access it from your laptop...

to share:

go to Printer and faxes folder

right click on your printer in your PC

click on sharing

setup a share name and press ok

then from your laptop go to start

click on run

in run type \\yourpcsname\ then enter

a folder will open and you can see your printer in there

then just double click on it and this should install the printer on your laptop.

Remember that if you turn of your pc then the printer will disappear and you can't use it.
Reply:The only way you would be able to print from your Laptop is if your printer was on a network. I am just quessing but if it is your home PC and printer i doubt it unless your running on your own server. The thing you can do is install your printer on your laptop and only hook it up when you need to print.
Reply:If your notebook and desktop are networked (wired or wireless), and you have "file and printer sharing" enabled on both, the printer should appear under Start---%26gt;Network---%26gt;Your Desktop's Name---%26gt;Printers.
Reply:You should tell that, what kind of printer you have?

which kind of port it has?

the easiest %26amp; cheepest thing for u is to just install the printer driver(from the cd comes with printer) just as same as u installed with ur desktop... when its finished now ur both computer have that printer..now u just have to put the usb cable of ur printer to that particular computer and print the doc.. ..it will work with both.. u don't need it.. and if u want to make available with both.... will for this u need to network the both computer..which is a lil bit long metter. and for home .. not recomended..

Which immunization is supposedly linked to autism?

And do you believe all the hype or did your child have this anyway? My baby has had all her vaccinations up to this point, but I'm terrified of her getting something linked to autism! Please give me whatever information you can. Thanks.

Which immunization is supposedly linked to autism?
It's "supposedly" the MMR, but I didn't buy it. Now it's been disproven!

The way I look at it, life is full of risks, but it's worth it to me to ensure my daughter is protected from terrible diseases!!

Here's a link to an interesting study about autism. :)
Reply:I don't believe all the hype. My child is fully vaccinated and my next one will be.
Reply:It is the MMR, but I has been disproven. They also used to say it's the mother's fault etc, but that has been disproven too.
Reply:Most of the time you will hear about children who had multiple shots in one visit or even one compound shot can lead to autism.

But I have found that the largest group of children appear right after the 15 month visit for their very first MMR shot. I have looked at studies done over and over again and it seems if moms and dads just wait until about 24 months to do the first installment of this shot, the risk drops by more than 50%.

This is not hype...it's just not proven enough that the doctors have to find a new way to build the shot.

(That's all it would take you know. Some money thrown at trying to find a new preservative.)
Reply:Vaccines do not cause autism. Find some articles in peer-reviewed journals and educate yourself.

The hype is mainly about the MMR, which I believe is given at 12 or 18 months.
Reply:I think it's all of them...something to do with the preservative in them. Mine have had their vaccinations and they are fine. It's unfortunate and I hope not true because not getting vaccinations is going to cause these diseases to come back. Check www.autismspeaks.org
Reply:It was the MMR (measles mumps %26amp; rubella, all in one shot) As far as I'm aware the link has been disproved, my daughter has had all her jabs

Is Tedraology of Fallot linked with Fibromyalgia?

I am a heart patient. Since birth I was diagnosed with Tedrealogy of Fallot with interrupted Aortic arch. Which had been repaired in 1972 in West Germany. My second heart surgery was here in 1997 where I underwent a Pulmonic valve replacement. Now, is this linked in any way with suffering from Fibromyalgia?

Is Tedraology of Fallot linked with Fibromyalgia?
As Fibromyalgia is a condition caused by the nervous system it is possible, that your heart condition could be contributory. The heart is controlled by the Autonomic nervous system and your fibromyalgia could arise from the Autonomic system. As you have Tetrology of Fallot, this would obviously affect the Autonomic system as your blood vessels were 'incorrectly plumbed'. Therefore messages controling heart rate, blood pressure etc would be problomatic. Also with the medical condition you have, oxygen starvation to the nervous system, would also cause problems. Have a look at the Mayo Clinic website. They have some very good information on both conditions.

Any good tutorials for Linked Lists in C# anywhere?

I, of course, have searched yahoo and google but have yet to find one I can follow along with in C#. I have no prior knowledge of linked lists but I understand their purpose. I have also heard of Arraylist() and understand that this might be my answer. Anyway, any help would be great.

Any good tutorials for Linked Lists in C# anywhere?
Here is a good linked list tutorial.

http://cslibrary.stanford.edu/103/

These are good tutorials if you want to write your own implementation, or just want to learn about the container. If you have an application that needs this kind of container, writing your own should be your last choice.

I do not know about C# but C++ offers all of the basic containers in the Standard Template Library (STL). Java has similar template container classes.

When you understand the basics, you can do a good job of choosing the right container from those available in standard implementations.

You forgot genocide, ethnic cleansing, and just a general malevolence.

Any Christian who denys this fact obviously hasn't read the first teastament, where god is portrayed as jealous, proud, vindictive, bloodthirsty, homophobic, rascist, infantacidle, unjust control freak and a bully.
Reply:some people's interpretation's of faith is very narrow - unfortunately they tend to be most vocal. Because they don't feel faith spiritually, they try to reduce to a set of rules so that they can define it.

This cannot work and they basically turns their faith into a fight to protect those rules. I once heard that sort of faith described as balancing an orange on a toothpick - it is so unstable that any weakening of the foundation will bring the whole thing down - hence they become so dogmatic, stubborn and unchristian in how they live their faith and so intolerant and dismissive of anything different.
Reply:that is because the christian religion is bigoted and 2000yrs out of date

Why is a sex-linked trait rarely (if ever) seen in the opposite sex from the expected sex type?

Sex linked traits are traits controlled by genes located on either the X or Y chromosome.

Why is a sex-linked trait rarely (if ever) seen in the opposite sex from the expected sex type?
because if its y linked then women can't have it because women don't have a Y chromosome while if its X linked it is usually recessive so males don't have a dominate allele to counteract it so the recessive shows through and to have two X recessive alleles in one cell is very rare because the male has to have the recessive phenotype and the female has to have a heterozygous genotype. Sorry for the in depth language.
Reply:Well, with Hemophilia, it only shows up with an X and a Y....some women are XXYs and have hemophilia, but it's very rare....same thing happens with men who get women's diseases....they have an extra X chromisome.
Reply:Sex linked traits are inherited on the X chromosome, thus men tend to display these traits much more often. Men only have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome, thus, whatever sex liked traits are carried on that X WILL be displayed in that male individual. Women are less likely to display the sex-linked characteristic because they inherit two X chromosomes. Because of this, the characteristic may or may not be displayed depending on whether it is a dominant trait or recessive trait.

Because of this, if a male displays a sex-linked trait, it may not show up in his female offspring, especially if it is a recessive trait and his wife is homozygous dominant.

Hemophilia is an example of a sex linked trait, as is colorblindness and male-pattern baldness. While men are commonly colorblind, females are rarely so. Also, male-pattern baldness will always be the fault of the mother. Males cannot contribute at all to male-pattern baldness because obviously they can only contribute the Y chromosome. The female is then the only source of X chromosomes, thus if male-pattern baldness runs in your family, never blame your father.
Reply:Sex linked traits can usually only be expressed in the sex that has only one of that chromosome. Since females have two X chromosomes, I don't think you could say that a female has any sex linked traits.

The male can have sex linked traits from his father's Y or his mother's X chromosome.

Ith regard to sex-linked traits, the heterogametic sex,?

usually the male, is said to be hemizygous. what does this term mean? What two types of individuals can be used to testcross organisms for sex-linked traits?

Ith regard to sex-linked traits, the heterogametic sex,?
the two words are heterozygous and homozygous... it doesn't relate to people neccessarily, it could be for cells

Homozygous cells- same sex, have you ever heard about homos... it means that they are interested in the same sex.

heterozygous cells- different sex
Reply:The heterogametic sex is the sex that has two different sex chromosomes. In humans, this is the male because he has an X and a Y.

Hemizygous refers to the the fact that the heterogametic sex has only 1 copy of each allele. In the human male for example, he has only 1 copy of each gene on the X chromosome. Since the female has 2 copies of each allele, she can be either hetero or homozygous for an allele because she has the two X chromosomes.

To test cross organisms for sex linked traits, you'd probably want to use a female with a normal phenotype crossed to a male who expresses the recessive trait, since the point of a test cross is to determine whether or not the normal phenotyped person is homozygous dominant or heterozygous. If she is homozygous dominant, all children will be normal, but if she is heterozygous, 1/2 of the female offspring should be affected.

Christians: How is Jesus linked with the line of King David?

I know it's not that relevant coz am a believer, but I can't help wondering why Jesus is linked with David's lineage. Joseph is from the line of King David, and is not the fether of Jesus. For Mary, mother of Jesus, I dont know if she is from that line. What puzzles me is, how is Jesus related to this lineage and yet Joseph is not His father??

Christians: How is Jesus linked with the line of King David?
In 2 Samuel 7.12-13, God promised King David that a blood descendent of King David's would one day rule from David's throne. God further promised David that this descendent would rule over His kingdom forever.

Of course we now know that it was Jesus Christ who God sent to rule forever from David's throne. (Luke 1.32)

To rule as King from David's throne, Jesus Christ HAD to meet TWO REQUIREMENTS as follows:

a) Jesus had to be a blood descendent of David, AND

b) Jesus had to be LEGALLY entitled to sit on David's throne.

God had a problem in having Jesus meet the second requirement named above. Here are the reasons:

a) David had many children, but only one of those children became king after David died. The son who became king was Solomon.

b) To be LEGALLY entitled to sit on David's throne, a person had to be a descendent of David through the kingly line of David's descendants. The kingly line of David's descendents began with King Solomon.

c) One of the kings who came along many years after David died was King Jeconiah (also called Coniah, and Jehoiahchin). King Jeconiah was, of course, a descendent of King Solomon and thus was in the kingly line of David. King Jeconiah did a great sin against God. Accordingly, God ordained that NO blood descendent of King Jeconiah would ever again sit on David's throne. (Jeremiah 22.30)

d) Because of what God said in Jeremiah 22.30, Jesus could NOT be a blood descendent of King Jeconiah. This meant that Jesus could not be a blood descendent in the KINGLY line of King David.

e) In summary, God's problem was this. To keep God's promise to David (2 Samuel 7.12-13) Jesus had to meet the following REQUIREMENTS:

1) Jesus had to be a blood descendent of King David, AND

2) Jesus had to be LEGALLY entitled to the throne, BUT

3) Jesus must not be a blood descendent through David's kingly line, because Jesus must NOT be a blood descendent of King Jeconiah (Jeremiah 22.30).

God's solution to the problem was as follows:

a) Among all of King David's children were two sons: Solomon and Nathan (2 Samuel 5.13-14).

b) Solomon was in the kingly line. Nathan was not.

c) Accordingly, anyone descended from Nathan would be a blood descendent of King David but would NOT be legally entitled to David's throne.

d) As explained in Matthew chapter 1, Joseph was legally the father of Jesus but he was NOT physically the father of Jesus, because Jesus was born of a virgin named Mary. Mary, of course, became Joseph's wife.

e) Matthew 1.1-17 gives the LEGAL geneology of Jesus Christ through His legal father, Joseph. Note that this geneology is fully within the kingly line of David (Mt 1.1), including King Solomon (Mt 1.6) and King Jeconiah (Mt 1.11).

f) Therefore, since Jesus was legally Joseph's son, and since Joseph was in the kingly line, Jesus was legally entitled to sit on the throne of David. However, Jesus was NOT a blood descendent of King Jeconiah.

g) Jesus was, of course, a blood descendent of His mother Mary.

h) The geneology in Luke 3.23-38 is the geneology of Mary, the mother of Jesus.

i) Luke 3.31 shows that Mary was a blood descendent of King David through David's son Nathan.

In summary:

a) Since Jesus was legally Joseph's son in the kingly line, Jesus was and is legally entitled to the throne of David.

b) Since Jesus was a blood descendent of David's son Nathan, through Jesus's mother Mary, He is a blood descendent of King David, as God promised He would be.

c) Since Jesus was Joseph's legal son but not his blood descendent, Jesus was not a blood descendent of King Jeconiah.

d) Accordingly, God kept all of His promises to King David except one -- that King Jesus would rule over an eternal kingdom. That promise WILL be fulfilled in the future (Dan 9.7, Rev 19.6).
Reply:Matthew 1:1-17

1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham: 2 Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers. 3 Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram. 4 Ram begot Amminadab, Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon. 5 Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, 6 and Jesse begot David the king.David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife F1 of Uriah. 7 Solomon begot Rehoboam, Rehoboam begot Abijah, and Abijah begot Asa. F2 8 Asa begot Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot Uzziah. 9 Uzziah begot Jotham, Jotham begot Ahaz, and Ahaz begot Hezekiah. 10 Hezekiah begot Manasseh, Manasseh begot Amon, F3 and Amon begot Josiah. 11 Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brothers about the time they were carried away to Babylon. 12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel. 13 Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor. 14 Azor begot Zadok, Zadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud. 15 Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob. 16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ. 17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations.
Reply:through Mary of Course who was of both Levi and Judah lineages. which is why jesus is melchizedek. or king of the just and the high priest for all.

notice the lineage of joseph says "as was supposed" or something like that, which means in essence a step father.
Reply:Study this passage and it will be clear to you that Jesus was descended from David. So was Joseph.

Luk 1:26 And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth,

Luk 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David: and the virgin's name was Mary.

Luk 1:28 And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Luk 1:29 Who having heard, was troubled at his saying and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be.

Luk 1:30 And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God.

Luk 1:31 Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb and shalt bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name Jesus.

Luk 1:32 He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father: and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever.

Luk 1:33 And of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Reply:Both Joseph and Mary were descendents of David . Jesus inherited the bloodline of David from his Mother and the right to the throne of David from his step Father.
Reply:Joseph is a DIRECT decedent of David ( look in the book of kings, the begot, begot, begot really boring but it will tell you the line or Mathew tells the lineage too). Mary is thought by some theologians to be a distant cousin of King David. Jewish lineage is Patriarchal, so really his ties to King David come from Joseph, but wait, Joseph isn't really his father. Jesus is at best a distant relation to King David through Mary so Biblically and genetically he's not a direct decendant of King David.
Reply:Both Joseph and Mary are of the Davidic line.

One through Nathaniel, the other through Solomon.
Reply:Check out the two different lines of Jesus. One is in the Gospel of Matthew, the other Luke. Why are there two? One is the line from Abraham to Joseph with King David and his son Solomon listed in the lineage. This is Matthew's record which most likely is Joseph's line. It doesn't really matter that Jesus isn't his flesh and blood son, Joseph raises him that way and so in effect he carries all the privledges that come with his adoption. Luke uses a different line, one that goes back to David and his son Nathan. Most likely this is the line of Mary's family. She too is from David's royal family. Luke tells us Jesus was thought to be the son of Joseph, but if you pay close attention, the story of Jesus birth is told from Mary's point of view. Luke also goes all the way back to Adam, the son of God. Pretty cool.

Intelligence and hair color linked?

well, i read somewhere that the genetics that determine hair color can also influence intelligence, so, could blonde hair possibly be linked to lower intelligence, or is this just hype?

Lemme hear your thoughts!

Note that i am not leaning either way in the argument, my opinion is not important in this issue, i am wishing to see what you think

Intelligence and hair color linked?
Sure. Try Clairol, maybe Nice N'Easy or Natural Instincts...my personal favorite is Feria - it costs a little more, but you're worth it!

Tip Of the Day:

A persons haircolour changes throughout their lifetime. Some babies are born with blond hair, then it changes to, say, brown hair. At a certain age the hair will become grey. People who, lets say had very dark (black) hair when they were younger may find that it has changed from black to dark brown; the person's hair may become salt-and-pepper, and grey after that.

So what age are you talking about? Please explain.

Oh, and ps: there is absolutely not a shred of scientific evidence in support of you claim.

Reply:Nope I don't think so at all. I am not stupid and I have quite a few qualifications yet I am a NATURAL BLOND!

Also a lot of 'blond' people aren't actually real blond, just bleached! ;-)
Reply:Obviously not true. Any possibility that the article was in a third rate magazine?

My sister, a natural blond, a senior business analyst at a major international telecommunication's company...

Shall I go on or are you willing to reconsider your link between the blonds and the intelligence?
Reply:Genes do influence hair color, and intelligence...but they aren't the same gene, they are different genes, so no...there's no link.
Reply:The codons that determine physical traits are frequently located in different places, so maybe some are near intelligence centers?

or did your source say these areas coded for both?

Could you dig up a link for us?
Reply:Not at all. It simply stems for the fact that in American society, Blondes are considered attractive. As a result of this, they often get a free ride in life, and unlike most people, get by largely due to their looks, thus enabling them to be 'dumb'. Probably also where the stereotype of good looking women being dumb evolved from. Now go to Scandinavia, where almost everyone and their brother is blonde, and you'll find relatively few idiots. All due to socializing.

How to get automatically linked text like in Wikipedia?

If you look at wikipedia.org, you can see that the text is linked to other related articles.

I doubt this is done by hand, any idea how to do this? I would like to apply it to my http://site xuzo.com , it's a joomla site.

How to get automatically linked text like in Wikipedia?
Wikipedia is a collaborative authoring site. The word 'wiki' in today's context is referred for collaborative authoring. These web based sites will have multiple authors writing content for topics.

These sites are supported on "wiki engines" like Twiki http://www.twiki.org or mediawiki http://www.mediawiki.org . Wiki websites are not meant to be developed by Content Management Systems like Joomla, Drupal or Plone.

Through Wiki Engines you can write content which will automatically converted into HTML pages. And they provide a facility of creating web pages and links dynamically. For example in Twiki Editor if you write

*It is a Twiki Home Page*

It will be converted into a Header in the HTML page. Similarly if you write

I want to create a NewWebPage now

Twiki gives you an indication if you want to make NewWebPage as new page by putting a question mark. If you click on the question mark the editor will open with a new page. So whatever you write in "NewWebPage" will become a new page.

And If you do not want "NewWebPage" to be created you should not click the question mark and save it.

So wiki engines provide this kind of features to dynamically create web pages on the fly.

I do not think it makes sense to create this kind of feature on Joomla. Rather if you need this feature desperately use a good Wiki Engine to create your website.

A website based on Wiki Engine can be a content management system but a website based on Joomla can not give the features of Wiki.

Reply:Wikipedia links are made by hand. If you want to automate you have to use a server side program. The first thing you have to think of is that you don't want every word to be linked, so you will have to apply the function only to the desired areas.

I can provide you with a function in PHP that apply the replacements to a string (piece of text):

function linkwords($strText, $strWord, $strPage)

{

$link = "%26lt;a href=\"".$strPage."\"%26gt;".$strWord."%26lt;/a%26gt;";

$strText = str_replace($strWord, $link, $strText);

return $strText;

}

This function will replace a piece of text ($strWord) to the same text but linked to a page ($strPage) as in Wikipedia. For example, let's supose you have a "sun glasses" sale page at www.domname.com/sunglasses.html. You can use the function like this:

$newText = linkwords($pageText, "sun glasses", "www.domname.com/sunglasses.html");

This way you have the same text on $pageText with the linked "su glasses" in the string $newText.

Reply:if you use html the code is %26lt;a href="http://www.website.html"%26gt;Blue Underlined Text%26lt;/a%26gt;

the %26lt;%26gt; and the stuff inside wont show up on your page only the blue undrlined text. Edit what you need
Reply:Wikipedia uses the MediaWiki software to do this. You can't easily apply it to other sites without doing some programming. You could download MediaWiki from mediawiki.org and put your site on that instead of joomla, or you could look at the code and adapt it if you have any PHP skills.
Reply:You can use a simple PHP function to do this, although this only recognizes links to to other websites. Otherwise, each Wikipedia article is individually written, so I'm sure it is done by hand, which, isn't that hard btw.

%26lt;?php

$mytext="My websites are www.test.com and www.test2.com so check them out.";

echo addLinkTags($mytext);

function addLinkTags($str) {

$str = eregi_replace('(((f|ht){1}tp://)[-a-zA-Z... '%26lt;a href="\1" target="_blank"%26gt;\1%26lt;/a%26gt;', $str);

$str = eregi_replace('([[:space:]()[{}])(www.[-... '\1%26lt;a href="http://\2" target="_blank"%26gt;\2%26lt;

$str = eregi_replace('([_.0-9a-z-]+@([0-9a-z][0... href="mailto:\1"%26gt;\1%26lt;/a%26gt;', $str);

if Verizon gave you a CD to install a security software (firewall. spamm blocker etc)then that is where problem is yahoo mail has a cookie that loads before you get to your mail box, if 3rd party cookies are disable then you might not get in.

How can i get them back on? I also tried going to Microsoft for a update, but it didn't let me cause of the ActiveX.

It might be the registry key, it should be set to yes.

You can edit it by clicking Start then "run..." then typing in RegEdit and clicking OK, then navigating to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -%26gt; Software -%26gt; Microsoft -%26gt; Internet Explorer -%26gt; Main and right-clicking on "Enable Browser Extensions" and selecting "modify" typing yes in the box and clicking OK.

In all the research I've done, they say simply to 'click' on tools and manage add-ons, but when I click on this tools menu option, all are availalbe, EXCEPT the one I need. It is not even 'an option', and only in light black, unlike the rest, which are actually black and available to 'click' on. Any advice?

Is traditional Indian dress linked to religion?

My son has to wear tradional Indian dress (not native American) for a school nativity but as only a very small percentage of Indians are Christians I am wondering If tradional Indian dress is linked to relgions such as Hinuism thus making it inappropriate for a Christian celebration%26gt;

Is traditional Indian dress linked to religion?
Funny Bun is right. I am Sikh and it did start out that way with link to Hinduism (the main and ultimate religion in India) but now evolved in the way that Funny Bun stipulates.

There are many Christians in India and thus wear Indian dress. Also, Saris are cool. I love wearing them as you feel like a queen!
Reply:When faith is weak, everything hurts.
Reply:There is no such thing is Traditional Indian dresses. You are accommodating traditional Hindu dresses with Indian. And I understand the reason. Hinduism is the dominant religion of Indian, therefore confuse it as being Indian.

Traditional Indian clothing can also accommodate Hi-jabs and burqa from Islam. And other Christian clothing's as well.
Reply:Your idea will seperate people into different religious and different education, different level of society, different strips of people by colour, by regional, by villages, by country, then we are defenced to others and the relationship will be poor.

Open mind and open heart to see how the different with other and which is simulars to us? Why simulars? Culture background or regional background?
Reply:some of it is religious related by dreams and teachings. some is passed down from generation to generation. it is linked more to the earth and the things upon the earth that we see and use every day. it is a gift to the ones who dress this way for different reason, ceremonies, (religious of course) powwows and special occasions. elk
Reply:I think you mean Hinduism which is a very wide religion and can certainly accommodate Christianity
Reply:Hello, I attended Diwali celebrations last week and was very honoured to be given the loan of a sari by an Indian friend. I wore the sari with pride and was complimented on being open-minded enough to wear it. Some of the Indian ladies wore western style clothing and although some were Hindu and some Sikh, the different styles of sari are more according to the region of India from which the person originates, rather than the religion. Incidentally, I am Christian, but each to his/her own is what I say. The more we embrace diversity the better this world will be.
Reply:well, lets clear a few things here. if i am not wrong, clothes came before religions. in that case clothes are definitely not related to any religion. its just a regional style of dressin that becomes a tradition. its just a coincidence that many ppl in india are Hindus. and thats the religion. also clothes one wears are a combo of many factors, topography, climate etc... i think if u visit india u are bound to find more than a handful of traditional costumes because it seems to have almost all geographical features that one may find in the atlas.

dont worry. go ahead with the dress.. it wont translate to any sin in anyway. and i realy think the indian saree (the one that many women wear) looks really amazing on many ppl (exclusively women)....
Reply:No,I 'm aChristian wearing traditional Indian dress.

Has anyone else been Suspended from Ebay for being linked?

I have been a powerseller from 2000 up until my indefinet suspension. 100% feedback with never a dispute filed against me through ebay. I had squaretrade, paypal and was ID verified.

One day out of the blue, I recieved notification that my account has been suspended indefinetly for being linked to another users account. After many emails and appeals sent through thier useless contact method, I was able to find the user ID that they linked me to. This person is a relative whom lives in a totaly different household. He never logged in from my house. His bank account, credit card, paypal address ect.. had nothing to do with me! His last name is not even the same as mine but is only similar! They will not respond to my emails or appeals even though I am clearly mentioning that I have evidence that this person is not directly linked to me. At the time I was suspended, ebay was the only source of income I had. I had to sell my house, and car because my income changed. What can I do? Anyone

Has anyone else been Suspended from Ebay for being linked?
Ebay and Paypal are notorious for their unforgiving methods and absolutely will not investigate to ensure that an innocent person is being persecuted by them.

Bottom line is that they own the sites and can suspend or reject anyone they wish for any reason or for no reason at all. There is no appeal.
Reply:EBAY SUCKS MORE THEN EVER! Use bidville, they actually have people you can talk to instead of a generic email response. Ebay and paypal have SOOO many complaints with BBB and other agencies. Hope all you jerks at Ebay are reading how much YOU SUCK ! Report It

Reply:They did that to me too and I have no idea who the person that I am linked to is.

They sent me the following procedure to get my account reinstated. Personally, I refuse to do it because I do not want to send them the personal information that they want.

How to Reinstate Your Account

At this point, you can request to have your account reinstated. To do so, please complete these steps:

1. Read the eBay User Agreement. Simply go to:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/png...

2. Print out a copy of the Request for Reinstatement form. Simply go to:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/poi...

3. Fill out all the fields in the Request for Reinstatement form. If you

leave any fields blank, we will not be able to process your request.

4. Resolve any issues related to the suspension of the associated account. To request information, please reply to the Suspension Notice emailed to that account. If you can't access the Suspension Notice, follow these steps:

a. Click the "Help" tab located at the top of most eBay pages.

b. Click the "Account Information and Billing Overview" link. c. Click the "Suspended Account" link.

d. Click the "Contact us" link and follow the instructions.

5. Fax the following documents to 1-877-349-1798 to the attention of Abusing eBay Appeals: - A letter stating that you have read and understand the eBay User Agreement

- A copy of your driver's license or other government-issued ID that shows your name and address

- A copy of a recent credit card statement, bank statement, or utility bill statement clearly showing your billing address. For security reasons, please black out your account numbers.

- A completed copy of the Request for Reinstatement form.

Please allow 48 to 72 hours for your request to be processed. As soon as

we've reviewed your case, we will notify you of our decision by email.

EDIT: In response to your additional comment, I contacted them just as you did and, after a couple of tries, they sent me that information and the name of the person I am linked to. My message to them was simply, "why is my account suspended? how can I resolve this?". I guess if you want to keep trying to contact someone all you can do is keep trying to email their customer support because the bastards don't even make a phone number available.
