WHY IS FAITH OFTEN LINKED WITH SEXISM, SEXUAL REPRESSION, HOMOPHOBIA, AND VIOLENCE?





Especailly with the strongest faith relgions like islam and chrisitinity.

Why is faith OFTEN LINKED WITH SEXISM, SEXUAL REPRESSION, HOMOPHOBIA, AND VIOLENCE?
You forgot genocide, ethnic cleansing, and just a general malevolence.





Any Christian who denys this fact obviously hasn't read the first teastament, where god is portrayed as jealous, proud, vindictive, bloodthirsty, homophobic, rascist, infantacidle, unjust control freak and a bully.
Reply:some people's interpretation's of faith is very narrow - unfortunately they tend to be most vocal. Because they don't feel faith spiritually, they try to reduce to a set of rules so that they can define it.





This cannot work and they basically turns their faith into a fight to protect those rules. I once heard that sort of faith described as balancing an orange on a toothpick - it is so unstable that any weakening of the foundation will bring the whole thing down - hence they become so dogmatic, stubborn and unchristian in how they live their faith and so intolerant and dismissive of anything different.

Reply:Everyone has to have a cause. Some people use religion to fight a personsl dislike. It's like fighting fire with gasoline.
