I have a printer linked with my desktop and i just bought a laptop and i was wondering if i can print with it?

as u know my printer is inked only to the desktop. can i proint with my laptop without being it linked? im not sure if my printer is wireless.

If you have your laptop and PC connected to the same Router/Switch (Linksys, Belkin, Netgear....) then you can share your printer from your pc and then access it from your laptop...





to share:





go to Printer and faxes folder


right click on your printer in your PC


click on sharing


setup a share name and press ok


then from your laptop go to start


click on run


in run type \\yourpcsname\ then enter


a folder will open and you can see your printer in there


then just double click on it and this should install the printer on your laptop.





Remember that if you turn of your pc then the printer will disappear and you can't use it.
Reply:The only way you would be able to print from your Laptop is if your printer was on a network. I am just quessing but if it is your home PC and printer i doubt it unless your running on your own server. The thing you can do is install your printer on your laptop and only hook it up when you need to print.
Reply:If your notebook and desktop are networked (wired or wireless), and you have "file and printer sharing" enabled on both, the printer should appear under Start---%26gt;Network---%26gt;Your Desktop's Name---%26gt;Printers.

the easiest %26amp; cheepest thing for u is to just install the printer driver(from the cd comes with printer) just as same as u installed with ur desktop... when its finished now ur both computer have that printer..now u just have to put the usb cable of ur printer to that particular computer and print the doc.. ..it will work with both.. u don't need it.. and if u want to make available with both.... will for this u need to network the both computer..which is a lil bit long metter. and for home .. not recomended..
