i kno that if more boys have the condition it is sex linked





and if more girls have the condition it is autosomal





.....but what if there is an equal number of boys and girls who share the condition???

It would be autosomal. Gender makes no difference on autosomal traits. Therefore, girls should not have a greater chance of inheriting the trait.
Reply:You cannot determine whether a condition is sex-linked simply on population, although that generally is a good guide. The x chromosome has many effects, including modifying some autosomal effects.
