Can a computer linked by wires transfer files or PLAY a game on the network with a laptob in same network?

i want just to ask a little Q..


Can a Computer that is linked to the routers by wires transfer files


or play a game on the network e.g. C%26amp;C Generals with a Laptop in the same network but connected wirelessly ?


is there is anyway please !

yes they can play buy wireless access point, connect your computers in adhoc mode and start playing games
Reply:Are you sure they are on the same network? (ping the other computer to find out). Are the MTUs on each computer set to the same value? Some game software is sensitive to that.





I have no difficulty doing this on my home network, but if you are trying to do it at work, there could be protocol filtering/blocking enabled that may prevent what you are trying to do.
Reply:If both pcs are already networked, you dont need to do anything else for gaming. To swap files tho, file sharing must be enabled on the pcs in network properties.

Reply:Yes, I've done this on my home network. I have 2 desktop PCs linked by wire to the (wireless) router and the laptop connected by Wireless-G card in another room. There is a tad more lag on the laptop due to signal loss, but as long as the laptop is within about 75 ft of the router it does fine.
